TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH

WHERE WE ARE WORKING

General Baptist Ministries strives to unite churches in a shared mission—reaching people with the Gospel both locally and globally. We believe that by working together, we can do far more than any church could do alone. Through church planting, leadership development, and missional partnerships, we are equipping believers to serve their communities and the world.

From sending missionaries and church planters to funding global initiatives and participating in short-term mission trips, General Baptist churches are making a lasting impact—around the block and around the world.

  • General Baptist Ministries is actively engaged in mission work across the United States, focusing on church planting, ministry partnerships, and outreach to migrant communities.

Recent efforts include partnerships with All Nations Church in Jacksonville and Daytona, Florida; the Sheffield Association in California; and new church plants in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Chula Vista, California. In addition, stateside mission trips continue to be a key part of engaging and equipping local churches for hands-on ministry within their own country.

  • General Baptist Ministries has been serving in Guam since 1911, making it our first and longest-standing mission field outside the continental United States.

Over the years, God has used this ministry to reach residents, guest workers, and military families across the island. The original church in Hågatña was strengthened under the leadership of Reverend and Mrs. Arthur U. Logan, followed by several faithful pastors throughout the 1920s and 1930s.

In 1935, Joaquin Flores Sablan became the first ordained Chamorro Protestant minister and led the church through the hardships of World War II. After the war, a new church was built in Agana Heights in 1955, and additional congregations were established in Yigo, Agat, and Talofofo, where ministry continues today.

  • General Baptist Ministries has been serving vulnerable children in Honduras through Faith Home, a residential ministry located on a 50-acre campus near San Pedro Sula.

Established to provide a safe and loving environment for children who have experienced neglect, abuse, or abandonment, Faith Home offers both physical care and spiritual nurture. The campus includes ten homes where married Honduran Christian couples serve as house parents, creating stable, family-style living environments. These caregivers—along with their own children—model Christ’s love through everyday life and provide a foundation for healing and growth.

Faith Home offers educational support with a full-time educational specialist and a computer lab and a qualified special education teacher.

Faith Home works in partnership with the local court system to care for children in need and is committed to sharing the love of Christ through safety, education, and daily discipleship.

  • General Baptist Ministries has been at work in Jamaica since 1958, when Reverend Roger J. Cazziol initiated outreach efforts while serving as a missionary in West Africa.

Drawn to General Baptist theology during seminary, Cazziol saw potential for ministry in rural Jamaica and took a position as Headmaster at a private boys’ school to begin missionary evangelism. In 1961, he registered the Jamaica Association of General Baptists, and by 1966, a formal network of churches had been established with official Articles of Association.

Today, the Jamaica Association of General Baptists includes nine churches with over 500 members, supported by vibrant ministries such as the Women’s Missionary Society, youth and men’s programs, and an active camping ministry.

  • General Baptist Ministries has been serving in Mexico for over 15 years, partnering with local churches to share the Gospel and develop Christian leaders.

Ministry efforts include three churches in Juarez, one in Chihuahua, and a growing network in Tijuana. Recent expansion has extended into Baja California Norte and Chiapas. Four Bible institutes are currently operating across the country, and Pastor Rene Rodriguez serves as the coordinator for Hispanic education, helping to equip new generations for ministry throughout Mexico.

  • General Baptist Ministries has a long-standing presence in the Philippines, with a strong emphasis on leadership development and theological training.

In Davao City, the General Baptist Bible College (GBBC) exists to train and equip generations for Christian service. Founded in 1965, GBBC has prepared pastors, Christian educators, musicians, and ministry leaders who now serve across the Philippines and beyond—including in business and government roles. Classroom instruction by well-trained faculty is complemented by hands-on ministry practicum. The student body is vibrant, ministry-minded, and deeply compassionate toward the people they serve.

In the tribal regions of Mindanao, the Matigsalug Bible Institute (MBI) has been operating since 1978. Established by General Baptists to train pastors and Christian workers for rural and tribal ministry, MBI offers accessible theological training—especially for students who have not completed high school. Life and learning happen in community, as students, staff, and their families live on campus. In addition to preaching and ministry, students are trained in practical skills such as farming and facility maintenance to help sustain the ministry.

  • General Baptist Ministries has maintained a vibrant presence in Saipan since the founding of Saipan Community Church shortly after World War II.

Planted by Reverend Ed Stevens, the ministry has grown into a thriving church and school located along the beach road in the Susupe area. Saipan Community School, serving students from kindergarten through eighth grade, operates as a ministry of the church.

Both the church and school reflect the rich diversity of the island, with members and students from the U.S., Japan, China, Korea, Palau, Chuuk, the Philippines, and beyond. The ministry is supported by two full-time pastors and a dedicated team of school personnel committed to serving the multi-cultural community of Saipan.

  • General Baptist Ministries has two primary ministry centers in India. In the state of Andhra Pradesh, the Kakinada/Pithapuram area is led by Dr. Prakash and his wife, Jemima. With a population of 84 million, only 1.51% identify as Christian. General Baptists have been actively working in this region since 1982, and the churches connected to this ministry are collectively known as the India Association of General Baptists.

In the state of Telangana, the Siddipet ministry center is under the direction of Jessey Vemula and his wife, Brittany. Telangana has a population of 35 million, with just 1.2% identifying as Christian. General Baptist work began here in 2013, and the associated churches form the Calvary Grace Association.

In addition to these ministry centers, General Baptists are engaged in a variety of efforts across India, including the Living Waters Project, Lydia and Dorcas Sewing Centers, the distribution of audio Bibles, the Good Shepherds Children’s Home, and Grace Home for Women.

Other teams offer construction expertise, educational training, servant evangelism, and leadership development.

PLANT A CHURCH

Church planting is a vital part of General Baptist Ministries’ mission to bring hope and transformation to communities both in the U.S. and around the world.

Planting a church is about more than constructing a building—it’s about creating a space for people to gather, grow in faith, and experience the love of Christ in community. Churches serve as centers of encouragement, discipleship, and lasting impact for individuals and families.

General Baptists have a rich history of church planting. In the past 25 years, thriving congregations such as Freedom Church in Gallatin, Tennessee; Nixa General Baptist Church in Nixa, Missouri; New Walk Church in Zephyrhills, Florida; and Southaven General Baptist Church in Southaven, Mississippi have all taken root.

This legacy continues today as we remain committed to partnering in new church planting initiatives—believing that together, we can reach more people with the Gospel and make a lasting difference in the communities that need it most.
