FOR EVERY TRIBE, TONGUE, PEOPLE, AND NATION.

WHAT IS MISSIOLOGY?

Missiology is the church’s biblical understanding of God’s mission and our participation in it. It helps answer why we go, what we proclaim, how we serve, and how the local church joins God’s work among the nations.

For General Baptists, missiology is not just a strategy for missions. It is a conviction that the church exists to make disciples, plant churches, develop leaders, and share the hope of Christ with every tribe, tongue, people, and nation.

The Mission of The Church

HOW WE DO MISSIONS

Our Missional Convictions

Evangelistic Urgency

We begin with the conviction that people need the hope of the Gospel. We serve with compassion, build relationships with patience, and speak of Christ with clarity because God's mission is neither optional nor secondary. Evangelistic urgency keeps the church focused on reaching people who have not yet heard or responded to the good news of Jesus.

Indigeneity

We honor the people, language, leadership, and culture of each mission field. Rather than creating long-term dependency, we work to equip local believers and leaders so the ministry can take root in its own community. Indigenous ministry is healthier, stronger, and more faithful because it is led by people who understand the place they are called to serve.

Multiplication

We aim for more than isolated ministry activity. We want disciples who make disciples, leaders who develop leaders, and churches that plant churches. Multiplication keeps mission work from becoming maintenance work and helps the Gospel continue moving outward through local ownership, reproducible ministry, and Spirit-led growth.

Priority of the Local Church

We believe mission flows from and strengthens the local church. Missionaries, teams, schools, clinics, and relief ministries are at their best when they are connected to the work of making disciples through local congregations. The church is God’s primary instrument for worship, discipleship, leadership development, and lasting Gospel witness in every community.
