KINGDOM EXPANSION CAMPAIGN
This General Baptist initiative envisions impacting selected
targets with focused ministry. It is intended to bring about a change in a five
to ten year period, which would otherwise take ten or twenty years to
accomplish. General Baptists are encouraged to participate via pledges with
gifts over a three to five year timeframe or one-time or periodic gifts to reach
our $1,550,000 goal.
The benefits are already being realized. Hundreds of salvations have been
reported from the Philippines, to Olathe, Kansas to Zephyrhills, Florida. God is
rewarding the efforts. Further domestic church plants are scheduled for 2008 in
New York City and West Plains, Missouri.

Why a Kingdom Expansion Campaign
The first-century church moved from addition to multiplication very early. In
Acts the notion of churches multiplying is very clear. The Kingdom Expansion
Campaign places major emphasis on church planting, as this has always been one
of the primary goals of the church.
Hundreds of people come to know Christ every year through our church-planting
efforts. General Baptists are touching new parts of the country through new
church plants, focusing on new communities, growing communities, and
under-churched communities.
In Mexico and Honduras the governments build hundreds of homes, and almost
overnight there is a community of thousands of people and no church. Cell groups
birthed in these new homes will eventually be merged to form local churches in
these communities. Other ministries in Jamaica and China will benefit from the
Kingdom Expansion Campaign.
Our commission is to reach the uttermost parts of the world for Christ, and
the Kingdom Expansion Campaign makes this possible.
CONGREGATIONAL MINISTRIES
Tough questions are being asked by more and more church leaders who
recognizes the church in the 21st century is much different than the church in
the 19th or 20th centuries. Today's church must also develop effective outreach
to changing communities. These tasks are all important parts of the challenge to
make real in our time the proclamation of the angel: "The kingdoms of this world
are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ..." (Revelation 11:15,
KJV).
PASTORAL MINISTRIES
As more young men and women are called to serve as vocational ministers, the
need for strong pastoral ministries has never been greater. God isn't calling
only traditionally "young" either. "I'm nearly 50 years old and almost at early
retirement, " shared a new pastor. "Why would the Lord call me, now, at my age,
to preach." This middle-aged, but still "Young," preacher is an excellent
candidate for the kind of accelerated leadership development made possible
through the Kingdom Expansion Campaign. Kingdom Expansion will allow for the
development of new ministries of care to and continuing education for our
pastors and other ministers.
STEWARDSHIP DEVELOPMENT
The Kingdom Expansion Campaign will help General Baptists expand their base
and continue to responsibly develop stewardship strategies. General Baptist
Ministries also has a mission to help churches acquire and use resources to
promote Christian stewardship.
TECHNOLOGY & MAINTENANCE
The Kingdom Expansion Campaign will provide resources to meet the maintenance
needs of the General Baptist Ministries office. The responsible and creative use
of technology has also become essential in ministry today. General Baptist
Ministries needs the resources to continue to grow in its use of technology to
serve General Baptist churches.
CAMPAIGN COSTS
The Kingdom Expansion Campaign will pay for itself; it will cover its own
costs and pay for the preparatory feasibility study conducted for General
Baptists last year.
There has never been a better time to share the
message we have to share. We have the opportunity to share the Gospel message
with a world looking for purpose, hope, and peace in all the wrong places.
General Baptists have consistently believed in and
supported this mission. Unified Giving has been a tremendous success for General
Baptists. Without question, Unified Giving has been the lifeblood for our
denominational ministries. However, it provides only enough resources to
maintain our current ministries.
If General Baptists want to truly impact the world
for Christ, we must grow into new local communities, toward people groups
previously unreached, and into more international mission fields.
General Baptists have always recognized a wonderful
truth: the greater number of healthy, thriving churches that exist, the more
people may be reached through ministry and missions.
