1 Pastor appreciation is scriptural.

"The elders who rule will are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching" (1 Timothy 5:17, also 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13).

3 Pastor appreciation gives attention to God's call into ministry.

Recognizing the pastor gives attention to a specific call from God for His work. This awareness will have an influence on others who are being called of God.

Pastor appreciation is an opportunity to express thanks.

Appreciating those we love is to be expressed daily. But having times set aside for special recognition makes certain it gets done.
Setting a time for pastor appreciation gives an opportunity for the congregation to come together in saying "thanks." And individuals or families who have been helped by the pastor are given a means to express gratitude.

4 Pastor appreciation contributes to the spiritual health of the church.

Expressing appreciation for the pastor has an influence on the fellowship of the congregation. There is a good feeling throughout the church when members are in harmony with their leaders and one another. This is a love that attracts others to the church.

5 Pastor appreciation honors the Lord who calls the pastors.

In speaking to the disciples, Jesus said, "He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me" (Matthew 10:40)
Our Lord is pleased when His people accept the godly leadership of their pastors.
