It’s hard to believe we have been on island for six weeks. It has been a flurry of activity since our arrival. Were shall I begin? Let’s start with the eternal.
Josh called and asked if he and Patricia could meet with me at our office. Upon their arrival, they brought with them an eighty-two year old Chinese man. He was here with a tour group, but came with one purpose in mind. He had heard the gospel in China but wasn’t sure it was true. Thus, he was walking the streets of Saipan looking for someone associated with the church who would affirm the truth about Jesus, when he met Josh and Patricia. We met for several hours. I wept as I listened to him pray asking Christ into his life. He had found the Truth.
An island woman had attended the English service and God revealed her wayward state. A few days later, she knelt beside our sofa and rededicated her life to Christ. Thank you Lord.
Sandy and I celebrated Canada’s Thanksgiving with our lovely Canadian Christians within one of the cell groups. We feasted on turkey, dressing, and the likes as well as a bite of pumpkin pie. It truly was a wonderful evening of sharing in Gods’ love. The week following, the group met at Lau Lau Bay, just as the sun was going down. We shared a pot-luck and BBQ. Together we sat on the beach singing praises as Rose, a young lady in the church, played her guitar. The time of worship passed quickly into the night. No one wanted to leave. Here we were a small but vital part of the body of Christ, joined together as family celebrating the love of our Father.
My mind journeyed back to other times shared. The faces and the places were elsewhere, but the love of the family was just as real. We look brightly into the future with joy unspeakable for God truly has expanded not only our borders, but also our family. Thank you Lord for the body of Christ!
